Benefits of Botanical Extracts

Consumers continue to express a growing concern for their personal health and well-being, and many are adopting healthy diets. Today's consumers are more demanding: they read ingredients, seek clean labels, healthy alternatives, and product transparency. Throughout Latin America, efforts to reduce unwanted components are continuing to grow, driven by increasing obesity rates and the demand for healthy foods and beverages.

These changes often focus on reducing the consumption of sugar and salt. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommended limiting sugar intake to less than 10% of total daily calories. Strong scientific evidence indicates that this will have a positive impact in the fight against obesity, tooth decay, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Reducing sugar is not the only challenge. Consuming excessive amounts of salt has been shown to cause 1.65 million deaths from cardiovascular diseases each year, accounting for one-tenth of all deaths from cardiovascular diseases.
